A Muse phone number is a business line connected to your Muse. Customers call or message it like any other number. Instead of ringing your personal phone or going to voicemail, the conversation is handled by BotPhone, an AI receptionist that follows the instructions and business information you approve. When the conversation ends, the outcome is sent back to Muse, and a full recap is emailed to you.
Put simply: Muse is your assistant, and BotPhone is its phone.

BotPhone for Muse also supports outbound calling, so the same number can be used to call people back, not just answer. Inbound is still the focus, but it's useful when a caller left a message and you want the receptionist to follow up. Report everything back to Muse
This is what sets a Muse phone number apart from a plain answering service. Every conversation is summarized and sent back to your Muse, and the full recap is emailed to you. Then you can just ask:
- “Who called while I was away?”

- “Change how we answer pricing questions.”
Supported actions depend on the connector permissions available to your account and your final setup.
How to set up a Muse phone number
- Copy the prompt. On the BotPhone for Muse page, choose Add to Muse and copy the connector prompt. It includes the server address and secure OAuth settings.
- Paste it into Muse. Open a Muse chat, paste the prompt, and send it.
- Approve the connection. Tap the connect link Muse sends back, sign in, and tap Allow.
That's it. Your receptionist is connected, and you can start briefing it from your Muse chat.

How much does a Muse phone number cost?
For the first 100 qualifying signups, BotPhone waives the $2 setup fee and the first month's $2 number fee. The account also starts with $2 in prepaid credit, enough for about 10 minutes of inbound or outbound calls. The offer is limited to one per person and BotPhone account connected to Muse while spots remain.
Current self-service pricing has two options:
- Monthly plan, $25 per month: your phone number plus 150 minutes of calls each month, with no setup fee. Plan minutes reset monthly, and extra minutes are $0.20 each and never expire.
- Pay as you go: $2 one-time setup, $2 per month for the assigned phone number, and $0.20 per minute for all inbound and outbound calls, including inbound calls forwarded from another number
Calling credit is prepaid in minutes, and usage is deducted from your balance. If you already have a business number, you can forward it to your receptionist through your own carrier. On pay as you go, the number stays rented while its $2 monthly fee can be deducted from your prepaid balance; on the monthly plan, the plan pays for it. Prices are in U.S. dollars.
